Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the architectural vision, roadmap, reference architectures, patterns, and integration standards for event-driven and data streaming platforms.
- Design end-to-end event-driven solutions, including conceptual and logical data models, taxonomies, event schemas, data contracts, and topic hierarchies.
- Lead architecture for Kafka, Solace, Kinesis, and related streaming platforms, including scalability, security, governance, high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-region design.
- Embed non-functional requirements such as resilience, observability, performance, and sustainability into platform architectures.
- Lead architecture governance through Architecture Decision Records, design reviews, workshops, and enterprise architecture alignment.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, conduct proofs of concept and feasibility studies, reduce technical debt, and promote reusable integration patterns.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, enterprise architects, and business stakeholders while mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect or Platform Architect.
- Proven experience designing enterprise event-driven and data streaming architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka, Solace Event Broker, and AWS streaming services including Kinesis and MSK.
- Deep knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture, streaming patterns, data lifecycle management, cloud platforms, and AWS.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, security, data platforms, disaster recovery, business continuity, data modeling, event schemas, and topic hierarchies.
- Experience defining reference architectures, non-functional requirements, fitness functions, and managing complex multi-solution landscapes.
- Experience in pharma, healthcare, finance, or another highly regulated industry is a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
