Base Salary

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven products and features from prototypes through production systems.
Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to understand user needs and deliver measurable outcomes.
Experiment with LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, models, techniques, and tools using data and user feedback.
Build and scale full-stack applications and intelligent agents that automate complex healthcare workflows.
Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies and contribute to Oscar’s AI strategy and technical vision.
Mentor and train junior engineers while leading technical contributions and cross-pod or cross-company deliverables.

7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, data science, or a related field.
5+ years leading cross-pod or cross-company deliverables and technical contributions.
5+ years setting standards for stable, correct, and maintainable code and applying computer science concepts in a team.
5+ years leading technical teams, including mentoring and training junior engineers.
Strong Python programming skills and experience solving complex, ambiguous problems.
Experience designing and analyzing experiments or evaluations.
Experience or interest in prototyping full-stack applications.
Preferred experience includes healthcare, legal or financial process automation, compliance and privacy, NLP, neural networks, transformers, modern AI frameworks, Docker, Kubernetes, React, and Golang.
A degree in math, statistics, data science, or engineering is listed as a bonus qualification.

Hybrid schedule in the New York City office with 3 days in-office per week, including Thursdays; the other two office days are flexible.
Base pay is $198,720–$260,820 per year, plus company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.
