Responsibilities
- Provide architectural guidance and solve complex problems across multiple projects and engineering teams.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of integrations, SSO, security, customizations, requirements gathering, and technical design.
- Establish design and coding standards and ensure high-quality implementations and reusable components.
- Lead cloud platform migration and architecture for highly scalable, low-latency, mission-critical applications.
- Perform hands-on coding, experimentation, and proof-of-concept development when needed.
- Share knowledge, promote reusable frameworks, and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Coach and mentor engineers and help grow high-performing engineering teams.
- Lead adoption, governance, and responsible use of AI-assisted development and prompt engineering across the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of development experience with distributed and cloud platforms.
- At least 5 years of experience architecting complex, highly scalable, low-latency applications.
- Experience with C# and/or Java in Windows/Linux data center environments.
- Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a mission-critical service.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-a-service, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and public cloud providers.
- Experience using metrics to drive operational excellence and experience growing high-performing engineering teams.
- Technical leadership experience involving coaching, mentoring, complex problem solving, and collaboration with business partners.
- Ability to code and develop solutions that engineering teams can build upon.
- Deep knowledge of REST and web services and experience with server-side .NET development.
- Knowledge of NoSQL and SQL databases; Aerospike, MongoDB, and Oracle are preferred.
- Knowledge of messaging systems such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools, including prompt engineering, code validation, security considerations, and governance.
- Strong judgment, communication, technical leadership, and ability to handle stressful situations.
- Broad knowledge of software engineering languages, frameworks, techniques, and industry trends.
