Base Salary
$143k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and operate large-scale, low-latency, high-throughput cloud systems.
- Evaluate AI technologies and architectures for firmware and hardware improvement solutions.
- Specify or implement AI platform improvements, including fine-tuning and training custom ML models.
- Drive continuous improvement using root cause analysis and identified opportunities.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual for monitoring and restoring system functionality within SLA timeframes.
- Participate in live service operations and integrate telemetry data to improve performance, reliability, and safety.
- Support dependency identification, design documentation, system interaction analysis, and architectural processes.
- Produce code to test technical hypotheses and support validation efforts.
- Collaborate on quality assurance plans, test cases, and testing automation.
- Address security, privacy, safety, and accessibility requirements while contributing to production and deployment automation.
- Define and measure the impact of analytics and reporting features using quantitative measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6 or more years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience coding in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
- Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Preferred experience developing and operating large-scale, low-latency, high-throughput systems.
- Preferred experience with LLMs, SLMs, embeddings, orchestration patterns, RAG, fine-tuning, or custom ML model training.
- Preferred experience with root cause analysis, telemetry integration, live service operations, quality assurance, testing automation, and analytics.
Benefits
- Typical U.S. base pay range is USD $142,800–$274,800 per year; specific San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area ranges differ.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
