Responsibilities

  • Own the technical direction and architecture of Kubernetes internals, controllers, and namespace management infrastructure.
  • Strengthen the reliability of Kubernetes services operating at large scale.
  • Write and own production Go controllers or operators used by other teams.
  • Troubleshoot systems across networking, operating systems, container runtimes, and applications.
  • Engage with the upstream Kubernetes community to advance Apple’s requirements.
  • Build AI-assisted tooling for triage, operational workflows, and infrastructure automation.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives, provide design reviews and mentoring, and act as a technical authority for service teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused role.
  • Deep experience operating large-scale, multi-tenant Kubernetes environments in production.
  • Strong systems background and full-stack troubleshooting ability.
  • Expert-level Go experience with a track record of shipping and owning controllers or operators.
  • Experience with configuration management at scale using Puppet, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, an engineering-related field, or equivalent related experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to complete cross-functional initiatives.
