Base Salary
$230k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Decompose data-science notebooks into reusable, tested libraries, pipelines, templates, and documented components.
- Build SDKs, CLIs, and templates for feature definition, model training and evaluation, and batch or real-time deployment.
- Build and scale low-latency real-time ML model serving.
- Improve batch ML inference scheduling, parallelism, cost controls, observability, failure handling, rollback, and post-processing.
- Own and expand the offline and online feature store with high-throughput access and consistent semantics.
- Instrument ML training and inference for latency, throughput, accuracy, drift, data quality, and cost, while building alerts and dashboards.
- Drive platform reliability, incident response, and postmortems.
- Partner with Data Science on production underwriting systems, model interfaces, service-level agreements, safety checks, and product integrations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including experience with ML platform or MLOps systems for training, deployment, or feature pipelines.
- Strong Python skills, solid software design and testing fundamentals, SQL proficiency, and hands-on Spark/PySpark experience.
- Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals including probability and statistics, learning types, regularization, feature engineering, evaluation metrics, validation, drift, stability, and monitoring.
- Expertise with AWS, Databricks, MLflow/registry, Model Serving, and Airflow or equivalent orchestration.
- Experience building real-time systems and large-scale batch pipelines.
- Practical knowledge of feature stores, model registries, experiment tracking, and evaluation frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bonus experience with Tecton, Feast, Kafka, Kinesis, fintech or underwriting systems, A/B testing platforms, shadow or canary deployments, automated rollback, and low-latency inference systems.
