Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure server-side applications and APIs.
- Set up and configure server APIs, API gateways, and service-to-service communication.
- Design and manage database storage solutions, including relational, in-memory, and NoSQL databases.
- Deploy and manage applications on a major cloud platform.
- Create testable automation frameworks and conduct unit, integration, BVT, stress, performance, and white-box testing.
- Support large-scale microservices and distributed systems.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of professional software development experience, including at least five years focused on high-scale backend server engineering.
- Expertise designing, building, documenting, and consuming complex REST or GraphQL APIs, including API gateways and service-to-service communication.
- Proficiency in backend languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Strong understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL Server, including query optimization, indexing, and schema design.
- Understanding of in-memory database solutions and NoSQL databases for scaling across machine clusters.
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Expertise with unit, integration, BVT, stress, and performance testing, including automated frameworks and white-box testing.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent, in computer science, computer engineering, or a directly related field.
- Passion for video games.
- Experience with large-scale microservices and distributed systems is preferred.
- Understanding of networking, data storage, and security is preferred.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, or Azure Resource Manager is preferred.
- Experience in heavily regulated or high-traffic environments such as FinTech, e-commerce, or telecommunications is preferred.
- Prior experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers is preferred.
