Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction for DigitalOcean's Identity platform.
- Architect IAM foundations for agentic AI workloads.
- Own the technical strategy for identity protocol adoption.
- Define the long-term architecture of the authorization layer.
- Serve as a primary technical voice in cross-functional design reviews.
- Establish engineering best practices for the IAM domain.
- Mentor senior engineers on system design and security engineering.
- Communicate identity platform strategy to senior leadership.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in Identity or Security Products.
- Expert-level proficiency in Go and experience with gRPC microservices.
- Deep knowledge of identity protocols like OIDC, OAuth2, and SAML.
- Familiarity with workload identity standards such as SPIFFE/SPIRE.
- Proven ability to design and operate systems at cloud scale.
- Experience with Kubernetes, SQL, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical consensus across organizations.
