Responsibilities
- Define multi-year architecture and technical strategy for Teams, Organizations, Projects, and Tags.
- Lead architectural decisions integrating account primitives with Identity, Billing, and AI/ML platform teams.
- Own the long-term strategy for console-facing notifications, reporting, and dashboard capabilities.
- Establish standards for technical debt prioritization, security rule coverage, and operational hygiene.
- Design systems and data models for millions of events per second across multiple regions and future growth.
- Represent Account Systems in cross-organization design reviews and resolve architectural conflicts.
- Mentor senior engineers in system design, security engineering, and technical communication.
- Communicate platform strategy and investment rationale to senior leadership, including VP and CPTO audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex, cloud-scale distributed systems.
- Expert-level Go proficiency and strong JavaScript/Node.js skills; exposure to Python and Rust.
- Experience designing and operating high-throughput systems handling millions of events per second across multiple regions.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure, plus cloud security models and infrastructure as code using Terraform, Helm, and Chef.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Ability to drive technical consensus across organizational boundaries and communicate platform strategy to executive audiences.
- Knowledge of cryptography and secure communication protocols is preferred.
- Open-source contributions to security or distributed-systems projects are preferred.
- Experience with identity and access management, account management, or enterprise-scale customer experience domains is preferred.
- Experience supporting SOC 2 or HIPAA compliance frameworks is preferred.
