Responsibilities
- Act as a technical reference for a focused engineering team building and supporting Invoice Simple’s platform growth.
- Provide technical guidance, mentor engineers, and help grow emerging technical leaders.
- Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to refine the roadmap and drive product feature execution.
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and support scalable software solutions across web and mobile applications.
- Lead product refinement sessions and promote high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and supportable designs.
- Stay current with technologies, frameworks, and tooling that improve the software development lifecycle.
- Encourage engineering best practices, automated testing, quality code reviews, and effective technical communication.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering scalable software solutions.
- 3+ years of experience building modern applications with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind.
- Deep understanding of the Node.js ecosystem and frontend and backend tooling such as Webpack and Vite.
- Extensive experience with database modeling and caching technologies, including relational and document databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Experience with RESTful API design, large-scale third-party integrations, cloud computing services, modern version control, Docker, and continuous integration solutions.
- Understanding of common software vulnerabilities and how to address them.
- Experience working across object-oriented and functional programming paradigms.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Preferred experience includes React Native mobile development, Next.js web development, in-app subscriptions, data-driven experiments and A/B tests, widely adopted applications, and mentoring engineers.
- A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is listed as a nice-to-have qualification.
