Base Salary
$180k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build reliable agent workflows combining models, retrieval, tools, human approval, multi-agent handoffs, long-running tasks, and persistent state.
- Improve document and business-data ingestion, retrieval, search quality, and automated offline and online evaluations.
- Implement tenant isolation, permissions, prompt-injection defenses, personal-data handling, and audit trails.
- Build reusable UI components, SDKs, integrations, and streaming agent interfaces for product teams.
- Track and improve agent cost, latency, quality, and end-to-end traceability.
- Collaborate with product teams to turn ideas into shipped features and lead technical design for major platform capabilities.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, write design documents, and participate in on-call for owned services.
Requirements
- 6+ years building and shipping production software, including recent senior-level experience.
- Strong Python backend experience, preferably with FastAPI, Pydantic, and asynchronous services.
- Solid TypeScript and React skills, including experience building reusable components or SDKs.
- Hands-on production experience with LLM applications such as tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, or agent workflows.
- Experience with retrieval and search, including vector databases, hybrid search, chunking, or reranking.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and data modeling, including performance and migrations.
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS with strong data security, permissions, and personal-information handling.
- Experience running services on AWS with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and monitoring tools such as Datadog.
- Experience measuring AI output quality, cost, and latency and using data to improve systems.
- Experience leading technical design, writing design documents, and mentoring engineers.
- Preferred experience includes multi-agent systems, long-running jobs, human-in-the-loop approvals, MCP, LiteLLM, Amazon Bedrock, automated LLM or RAG evaluations, prompt-injection defenses, AI security, streaming or accessible AI interfaces, and regulated environments such as SOC 2 or PCI DSS.
- Daily use of AI coding tools with sound judgment about when human review is required.
