Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and related stack components
- Architect scalable solutions for high-volume data and transaction processing
- Maintain and optimize existing code for platform stability and performance
- Collaborate with front-end engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to define, design, and ship features
- Monitor production systems, resolve incidents, and implement preventive improvements
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to continuous learning and engineering best practices
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software development experience with a strong emphasis on Ruby on Rails
- Proficiency in database design and management, particularly PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with background processing using Sidekiq or similar tools
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as Heroku, AWS, or GCP and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of RESTful API design and web application architecture
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, engagement, and communication skills for remote collaboration
- Experience with Redis for caching and message queuing is preferred
- Knowledge of Bugsnag or similar error monitoring tools is preferred
- Familiarity with Coralogix or similar logging solutions is preferred
- Understanding of React or Angular for better backend integration is preferred
- Experience with ERP or e-commerce platforms, startups, Agile environments, Jira, and Confluence is preferred
- Passion for mentoring and helping others grow is preferred
