Responsibilities
- Design and build AI-powered product features including agent architectures, RAG pipelines, model orchestration, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails.
- Own end-to-end technical decisions across application code, data stores, infrastructure, deployment, observability, cost, and security.
- Set technical direction for embedded product teams and make architecture decisions that balance prototyping speed with long-term durability.
- Mentor and coach engineers through pairing, design review, judgment transfer, and technical leadership.
- Assess system constraints, dependencies, failure modes, reversibility, and the blast radius of technical decisions.
- Build production AI systems that are testable, versioned, evaluated, observable, and capable of graceful degradation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including meaningful time at a senior, staff, or principal level owning technical direction.
- Production experience building and shipping AI-powered features such as agent systems, RAG, or model orchestration.
- Strong full-stack capability across application code, data stores, and infrastructure.
- Experience designing, deploying, and operating production systems on AWS at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate other engineers through pairing, design reviews, or informal technical leadership.
- Preferred experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, pharma, or finance.
- Preferred background building multi-agent or agentic AI systems in production.
- Preferred familiarity with infrastructure as code such as CDK, Terraform, or Pulumi and container orchestration such as EKS or ECS.
- Preferred experience in product-led engineering organizations where engineers own outcomes.
Benefits
- Annual base pay ranges from $172,466.00 to $258,700.00 USD.
