Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and support high-traffic full-stack applications, web services, APIs, data models, data flows, and deployment infrastructure.
  • Gather requirements with product teams, create solution designs and documentation, and evaluate tools and technologies based on cost, capacity, feasibility, and long-term maintenance.
  • Build monitoring, alerting, application performance, automated build, and deployment systems while ensuring high availability, scalability, low latency, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency.
  • Create system documentation, onboarding materials, runbooks, troubleshooting guidance, and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Lead solution design discussions, review code, guide and mentor engineers, and lead development teams on a day-to-day basis without people-management responsibility.
  • Own day-to-day project delivery, communicate timelines and status to stakeholders, escalate blockers, and support production issues and on-call operations.
  • Influence technical strategy, standards, reusable engineering patterns, and roadmaps across teams while representing the team in cross-functional technical decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Java, TypeScript, or Node.js, with willingness to learn the others.
  • Proven experience building high-traffic web applications and deploying them to production with a focus on quality and maintainability.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS, and with supporting live applications through debugging, log analysis, dashboards, and issue resolution.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with SQL databases such as MySQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and deployment tools including Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Experience with code and build tools including GitLab, Jenkins, and Sonar.
  • Experience working in Agile teams, handling production issues, and providing on-call support.
  • Strong communication, documentation, estimation, time-management, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Preferred experience includes UI design, client-facing data applications, entertainment or online ticketing, diverse cultural and regulatory environments, and use of Claude or similar AI tools in the software development lifecycle.
