Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and own data-intensive, high-performance, scalable platform components.
- Build, deploy, and optimize streaming infrastructure and foundational data-platform services.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, architects, and cross-functional partners on project design and implementation.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, analysis, and performance tuning.
- Coach and mentor engineers to help scale the engineering organization.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the technology stack.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and comfort with multiple backend languages, preferably Java or TypeScript, Ruby, GoLang, or Python.
- Experience with at least one of MySQL, Redis, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and API design skills.
- Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams and demonstrate ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and customer focus.
- Track record of delivering work incrementally, gathering feedback, and iterating on solutions.
- Comfort with React or similar front-end UI stacks, or willingness to learn.
- Preferred experience includes Kinesis, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Beam, Snowflake, Hadoop, Kubernetes, or Mesos.
- Preferred experience includes public cloud, large-scale data integration across batch and online systems, distributed systems, security, encryption, identity management, or authentication infrastructure.

- Annual base salary range of $136,000—$187,000 CAD for candidates located in Canada.
