Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and roll out ServiceNow HAM Advanced and SAM Pro modules across the hardware and software asset lifecycle.
- Configure hardware and software model normalization, stockrooms, consumables, contracts, entitlements, allocations, license metrics, and publisher content.
- Build and maintain normalization, reconciliation, discovery, inventory, procurement, and licensing integrations for accurate asset and CMDB data.
- Develop Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer flows, Integration Hub spokes, Asset Workspace experiences, Service Portal pages, and self-service capabilities.
- Build REST/SOAP integrations with discovery, inventory, procurement, and licensing systems using MID Server-based discovery.
- Manage update sets and code promotion across development, testing, and production while following release and change-management processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot scheduled jobs, integrations, probes, sensors, and MID Server issues affecting asset data quality.
- Support audits, license reharvesting, true-up avoidance, stakeholder reporting, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Build Performance Analytics reports and dashboards covering inventory, license compliance, and lifecycle status.
- Evaluate and implement ServiceNow AI agent and Now Assist capabilities for ITAM with appropriate guardrails and human review.
- Apply ITIL 4, ITAM, configuration-management, engineering, testing, documentation, code-review, and knowledge-sharing practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in ITAM data quality, automation coverage, governance, and stakeholder self-service.
Requirements
- 6+ years of overall IT or software development experience, including 4+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development.
- 2+ years of direct hands-on implementation experience with ServiceNow HAM and SAM Pro, including normalization, reconciliation, entitlements, and lifecycle configuration.
- Hands-on experience building REST/SOAP integrations, MID Server-based discovery, and integrations with tools such as SCCM, Flexera, and major software publishers.
- Coding ability in JavaScript and related front-end and back-end development sufficient to build and extend Service Portal or Asset Workspace components; configuration-only experience is insufficient.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow application scopes, plugins, platform architecture, and upgrade processes.
- Experience building ServiceNow Performance Analytics, reports, and dashboards.
- 4+ years of ITSM experience in a large, matrixed enterprise and working fluency with ITIL 4 practices.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Catalog modules and their relationship to IT asset data.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience applying AI or agentic AI to modernize an ITSM or ITAM practice beyond a pilot or proof of concept.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification is required.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification is required.
- ServiceNow CIS-HAM, CIS-SAM, ITIL 4 Foundation, CTA, or another advanced certification is preferred as applicable.
