Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, maintain, and refactor ML codebases, pipelines, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with research, medical, engineering, product, and stakeholder teams to design and implement ML approaches.
  • Implement scalable ML methods and workflows for high-performance computing resources.
  • Develop deployable healthcare solutions and scalable, reliable services.
  • Write efficient systems code and tests, review other developers’ code, and provide feedback on quality, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot data-analysis, implementation, hyperparameter, modeling, and distributed-systems issues.
  • Lead dependency identification and design-document development for products, applications, services, or platforms.
  • Monitor systems and services on call for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
  • Assist with manuscripts and dissemination of research results.
  • Execute work independently, communicate with stakeholders, and manage multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Five years of software engineering experience is required.
  • Hands-on coding experience with C++, Python, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and machine learning.
  • Ability to write efficient systems code and tests and debug distributed systems.
  • Preferred experience includes complex academic medical centers, large multimodal healthcare datasets, software lifecycle management, shipped products, and scalable reliable services.
  • Preferred experience includes asynchronous programming and concurrency using threads, tasks, futures, or async/await.
  • Preferred experience includes Azure Kubernetes Service, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, or Google Kubernetes Engine.
  • Preferred experience includes database engines, query engines, indexing solutions, CUDA, AI systems at scale, networking, distributed systems, and lower-level infrastructure.
  • Preferred experience includes live-site operations, Site Reliability Engineering, production support, accessible technologies, software test engineering, and AI agents.
