Responsibilities
- Design, document, and drive architecture for scalable, reliable, secure platform components.
- Own complex initiatives from architecture and design through development, deployment, production operation, and iteration.
- Build a trusted, high-quality data foundation for generating intelligence.
- Design secure, isolated, least-privilege access for AI agents operating over sensitive data.
- Build systems that turn intelligence into personalized customer and family safety insights and actions.
- Make technology decisions across the stack while balancing scalability, cost, and operational simplicity.
- Champion security, privacy, observability, testing, and operational excellence practices.
- Mentor engineers on design, performance tuning, and system reliability.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and shipping complex, large-scale distributed systems.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex systems end to end, from architecture through production operation.
- Strong knowledge of software design, data structures, algorithms, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- In-depth cloud technology knowledge and judgment across serverless functions, containerized services, databases, caches, queues, and data-processing pipelines.
- Experience building systems that handle sensitive or regulated data with security and privacy as first-class design constraints.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred experience with production AI/LLM systems, including agents, retrieval pipelines, evaluation, or LLM observability.
- Preferred background in security, privacy engineering, or trust and safety.
- Preferred experience with large-scale data platforms, data-intensive systems, AWS, and Infrastructure as Code.
