Responsibilities

  • Integrate technologies and features into a large codebase spanning modern and legacy designs and multiple hardware architectures.
  • Improve memory usage, load times, and software performance.
  • Debug defects in development environments and test, debug, and extend other engineers’ code.
  • Develop automation, tooling, and workflow enhancements to improve team efficiency.
  • Contribute to core EA technologies and collaborative development efforts.
  • Design practical solutions with technical and non-technical coworkers.
  • Support the Systems engineering team with technical issues and questions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of C++ development experience.
  • Knowledge of software engineering and architectural design.
  • Understanding of memory management, file systems, multicore processing, and performance optimization.
  • Experience using profiling tools to monitor and diagnose issues.
  • Experience with build systems, pipelines, source control, multiple compilers, and multiple architectures.
  • Experience integrating and maintaining large-scale systems and legacy codebases across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience with Python, Lua, C#, and assembly.
  • Previous experience shipping console products.
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with external team members or teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as coding agents to prototype, accelerate execution, and automate workflows, with the ability to validate generated code.
