Responsibilities
- Lead application development efforts across requirements gathering, functional analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and support.
- Develop PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and supporting database objects.
- Design interactive Oracle APEX applications and build web applications, reports, APIs, integrations, and web services.
- Apply performance tuning, redundancy, security, reliability, usability, and scalability practices.
- Troubleshoot critical production issues and provide timely resolution.
- Provide architectural guidance on user interface frameworks, server-side development, integrations, messaging solutions, and software development best practices.
- Conduct code reviews, security reviews, integrations, and technology evaluations with consultants, vendors, and internal partners.
- Serve as a technical liaison, mentor junior staff, and research technologies aligned with the organization’s technology strategy.
Requirements
- Minimum of seven years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
- Experience designing interactive Oracle APEX applications.
- Ability to develop software in Java, JavaScript, PL/SQL, or other programming languages.
- Experience developing web applications with at least one popular web framework.
- Experience with test-driven development and software engineering tools and best practices.
- Knowledge of relational databases and database-driven applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to document business and technical requirements, specifications, and solutions clearly.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, consensus-building, communication, analytical, quantitative, and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff at all organizational levels.
- Experience with Agile and Lean development methodologies.
- Experience with higher education fundraising and completion of specified Harvard IT Academy foundational courses or an external equivalent are preferred.
