Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, enhance, integrate, and support complex commercial trading, risk management, credit, retail pricing, and CTRM/ETRM applications.
- Serve as a senior technical lead on complex projects and workstreams, providing technical analysis, design recommendations, implementation support, and mentorship to junior developers.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, system designs, integrations, and development tasks in partnership with stakeholders and technology teams.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, orchestrate deployments, and provide occasional after-hours support.
- Support cloud adoption, automation, DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, platform reliability improvements, automated testing, secure coding, peer reviews, reusable patterns, and documentation.
- Review and support vendor-delivered solutions, validate deliverables, assist with implementation, and provide ongoing production support.
- Balance project delivery, production support, technical debt, operational priorities, risks, and mitigation plans while providing project updates and project management support as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related scientific or technical discipline is required, with demonstrated technical proficiency permitted as a substitute.
- At least 5 years of experience developing, supporting, or integrating enterprise applications.
- At least 5 years of experience supporting commodity or energy trading, retail pricing, or related commercial applications.
- At least 2 years of experience leading or managing technical projects, delivery priorities, or production support activities.
- Advanced ability to analyze business processes and translate business needs into technical requirements, designs, and system changes.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more of .NET/C#, Java, AngularJS/Angular, SQL, APIs, or integration frameworks, along with advanced relational database proficiency; Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, DB Maestro, ActiveBatch, or similar cloud, source control, DevOps, release management, and automation tools.
- Advanced proficiency with Agile/Scrum delivery practices and strong understanding of incident, change, release, service request, and production support practices.
- Advanced understanding of commodities trading and front-, middle-, and back-office processes, including work in rapidly changing and demanding business environments.
- Advanced proficiency building, enhancing, integrating, and supporting CTRM/ETRM systems such as RightAngle, Endur, Allegro, or similar platforms.
- Strong system-impact assessment, problem-solving, root cause analysis, ownership, communication, prioritization, multitasking, deadline management, and vendor collaboration skills.
- Ability to independently drive complex technical work to completion and mentor junior developers; fluency in spoken and written English is required.
