Quality Assurance Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Test features and small feature sets independently.
- Break down quality problems and estimate task effort.
- Write, execute, and monitor automated test suites.
- Perform UI, API, and system-level integration testing.
- Apply testing types and methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Create effective tests and use cases that verify functional requirements and remain valid during refactoring.
- Collaborate with developers on bug fixes and build plans.
- Collaborate with Quality Leaders to create test plans.
- Configure testing tools and assist junior staff when needed.
- Define quality metrics, best practices, and coding patterns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a STEM discipline.
- Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience.
- Programming experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Experience with UI test automation using Selenium, Playwright, or WebDriverIO, with code written in TypeScript or Java.
- Experience testing APIs and automating tests with Karate, Rest Assured, or Playwright.
- Knowledge of core data structures and algorithms.
- Experience writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using tools such as Cucumber, Playwright, and Selenium.
- Understanding of the infrastructure required to run large distributed web applications.
- Ability to make basic technology choices based on experience and adapt to changing requirements.
