Responsibilities
- Assess and harden AI systems against adversarial attacks, including evasion, model inversion, and membership inference.
- Identify and mitigate prompt injection, jailbreaking, insecure output handling, data poisoning, and other AI-specific risks.
- Red-team and adversarially test AI models and AI-powered applications before and after deployment.
- Secure model weights, dependencies, AI supply chains, and deployment pipelines.
- Apply application and cloud security practices, including IAM, network segmentation, and secrets management, to AI infrastructure.
- Partner with AI and product teams to integrate security throughout AI development.
- Support data privacy and governance efforts involving PII handling, data lineage, and AI risk frameworks.
- Translate technical security findings into guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in the 24x7x365 on-call support team for global internet point-of-presence security infrastructure.
- Provide security thought leadership and help define the organization’s AI security strategy and practices.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in security engineering with meaningful exposure to AI systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced knowledge of information security principles, systems, networks, or specialized security technologies.
- Familiarity with adversarial AI concepts and AI-specific attack vectors.
- Hands-on experience red-teaming or adversarially testing an AI-powered product in production.
- Strong Python skills and familiarity with common AI development frameworks.
- Working knowledge of cloud security across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with containerization and CI/CD tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, or GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with OWASP’s Top 10 for LLM Applications or MITRE ATLAS.
- Exposure to AI governance frameworks such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
- Understanding of TCP/IP and experience designing, engineering, and implementing secure, resilient infrastructure.
- Experience defining security strategies involving data loss protection, DNS/DHCP, and local or global load balancing.
- Strong analytical, communication, curiosity, dependability, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
