Base Salary
$143k - $331k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own significant systems from design through production operation across AI automation, CI/CD, distributed services, developer tooling, reliability, and code intelligence.
- Lead architecture, design documentation, implementation, quality, operational health, technical reviews, and roadmap decisions for core platform capabilities.
- Build evaluation and validation systems for AI-assisted changes, builds, tests, deployments, and code-intelligence experiences.
- Design scalable automation and delivery platforms supporting large repositories, high-volume builds, parallel validation, resilient integrations, rate-limit management, and cost controls.
- Operate reliable production services by defining service-level objectives, alerts, runbooks, incident practices, authentication, secrets management, and network policy.
- Integrate platform capabilities through Model Context Protocol and APIs, connect with developer and CI/CD systems, and incorporate partner feedback.
- Provide code and design reviews, mentor engineers, improve testing and observability practices, and drive technical solutions through delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: 5+ years building, testing, launching, and operating backend services or data-intensive production systems.
- Preferred: experience owning significant system architecture, writing design documents, and leading technical reviews.
- Preferred: experience with distributed systems, CI/CD platforms, workflow orchestration, developer automation, data pipelines, Kubernetes, search, retrieval, or code intelligence.
- Preferred: 5+ years delivering production software involving AI-enabled automation, agentic workflows, automated software engineering tasks, evaluation frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation, embedding pipelines, or Model Context Protocol.
- Preferred: experience operating Qdrant, FAISS, Neo4j, or PostgreSQL at scale.
- Preferred: experience with CI/CD systems, build and test infrastructure, release automation, deployment orchestration, policy gates, developer self-service platforms, infrastructure as code, and Kubernetes deployment tooling.
- Preferred: experience with gRPC service design, FastAPI or similar frameworks, TypeScript, and React front ends.
- Preferred: experience building developer tools, engineering automation, CI/CD platforms, build or test systems, static analysis, code search, or code-intelligence products.
- Preferred: experience leading technical workstreams, mentoring engineers, or owning systems used by other teams.
- A master's degree or PhD in computer science or a related technical field is preferred.
