Responsibilities
- Lead a team in designing and developing core database system functionality.
- Create architecture and designs addressing complex scalability problems.
- Develop innovations that improve system robustness and performance.
- Implement comprehensive functional and system tests for assigned components and overall database quality.
- Debug issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and diagnose defects.
- Participate actively in release and deployment processes.
- Own services end to end from conception and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and customer engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science.
- 4+ years of industry experience in system or database internals programming for SMTS, or 6+ years for LMTS.
- 4+ years of technical leadership in enterprise server platform or systems architecture and design for SMTS, or 6+ years for LMTS.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
- Experience with highly concurrent, multithreaded or multiprocess data structures and design.
- Strong Java or C programming skills.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, learning, and software delivery abilities in a fast-paced agile environment.
- PostgreSQL software development experience and community contribution are preferred.
- Experience building a high-performance, large-scale database platform is preferred.
