Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Establish architectural standards, governance practices, reusable design frameworks, and resilient federal platform strategies for FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 authorizations.
- Translate NIST, DoD SRG, and FIPS controls into scalable cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, and dedicated enclaves.
- Drive security and compliance architecture accountability across the platform lifecycle, including risk identification, mitigation, continuous monitoring, and technical debt reduction.
- Author architecture specifications, System Security Plans, and portfolio strategy documents for executive, technical, and regulatory audiences.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews, lead root-cause analyses, monitor execution and service health, and improve continuous delivery feedback loops.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership on long-range planning, release trajectories, platform consumption models, and production transitions.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison to 3PAOs, sponsoring agencies, Authorizing Officials, FedRAMP PMO, and DoD authorization stakeholders.
- Advise executives and customers on architectural choices and mentor architects and engineering leaders.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in security architecture, cloud engineering, or systems design, including 5+ years leading FedRAMP Moderate/High or DoD IL5 compliance initiatives.
- Proven experience operating as a Principal Architect and driving cross-organizational technical strategy, alignment, and multi-year roadmaps.
- Deep expertise in NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-37 RMF, FIPS 140-2/140-3, and the DoD Cloud Computing SRG.
- Hands-on experience designing and securing cloud architectures in AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or equivalent federal environments.
- Direct experience leading 3PAO assessments, agency sponsorship, and FedRAMP PMO or DoD AO authorization cycles.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex technical topics to executives and federal officials.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CCSP, or CISM.
- Active or eligible-for U.S. federal security clearance at the Secret or Top Secret level is preferred.

- The typical base salary range is $218,400–$365,200 annually; select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan locations have a range of $263,200–$401,400 annually.
