Principal Engineer, Software

- Track technological developments in the consumer electronics industry.
- Collaborate with professionals to develop technical requirements for software systems and applications.
- Design software architecture and high-level, end-to-end solutions aligned with platform strategy requirements.
- Create hardware-agnostic designs and customize the embedded Linux kernel.
- Provide technical guidance on software design and implementation.
- Ensure software meets quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, and certification requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, electronics engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- 8+ years of hands-on development experience with embedded Linux drivers, middleware, or applications in the consumer electronics industry.
- 5+ years of proven experience designing software architecture for embedded systems, especially hardware-agnostic designs and kernel customization.
- Proficiency in C/C++.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
- Knowledge of software design and architecture patterns is preferred.
- Familiarity with Linux audio frameworks and technologies including ALSA, GStreamer, and DRM is preferred.
- Machine learning knowledge is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel and work in Shenzhen.
- Successful completion of a background investigation is required for employment.
