Responsibilities

  • Design firmware for optical communication products.
  • Implement firmware for microcontrollers such as STM32 and ESP32 and other embedded platforms.
  • Develop low-level GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, and related drivers and integrate peripherals.
  • Ensure reliable communication between hardware modules and software systems.
  • Develop GUIs for firmware debugging and laboratory engineering investigation.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate hardware and firmware with application layers.
  • Create and maintain memory maps, register files, design documents, and test reports.
  • Troubleshoot firmware issues and perform failure analysis, root-cause studies, and improvement work.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with microcontrollers and independent firmware development for mass-production products.
  • Experience writing low-level drivers, including GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, and PWM.
  • Experience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or other real-time operating systems.
  • Experience using JTAG, SWD, and in-circuit debuggers.
  • Familiarity with IEEE 802.3, OIF, MSA, and CMIS standards or specifications.
  • Understanding of firmware flashing, update methods, and version control.
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design and electronic components such as MCUs, ASICs, sensors, laser drivers, TEC controllers, and regulators.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor lasers for optical communication applications.
  • Bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, photoelectric engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication, or a related field.
  • Minimum eight years of experience in the related industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
