Responsibilities
- Design and implement firmware for optical communication products and embedded platforms.
- Develop low-level drivers for GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, PWM, and other peripherals.
- Integrate hardware modules, peripherals, firmware, and application-layer software.
- Develop GUI tools for firmware debugging and lab engineering investigations.
- Create and maintain memory maps, register files, design documents, and test reports.
- Troubleshoot firmware issues, conduct failure analysis and root-cause studies, and develop improvement solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in electrical engineering, optoelectronics, computer engineering, telecommunications, or a related field.
- At least eight years of experience in the related industry.
- Independent firmware development experience for mass-production products.
- Proficiency with microcontrollers and low-level driver development.
- Experience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or other real-time operating systems.
- Experience using JTAG, SWD, and in-circuit debuggers.
- Familiarity with IEEE 802.3, OIF, MSA standards, and CMIS specifications.
- Understanding of firmware flashing, updating methods, and version control.
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design and electronic components including MCUs, ASICs, sensors, laser drivers, TEC controllers, and regulators.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
- Knowledge of semiconductor lasers for optical communication applications.
- Strong failure-analysis, root-cause-analysis, communication, organization, and English and Mandarin language skills.
