Base Salary
$146k - $264k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and scale ARM64 compute platform functionality, hypervisor integration, and instance management across the Akamai Connected Cloud.
- Develop low-level platform services, resource orchestration tools, and compute APIs using Python, Go, or compiled systems languages.
- Design, implement, review, document, and test high-quality software.
- Collaborate with peers and global teams to develop features and resolve software bugs.
- Participate in technical design reviews and mentor junior team members on infrastructure initiatives.
Requirements
- Have 8 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
- Have extensive experience with the full software development life cycle, including code reviews, release management, and support.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Python, Go, C, C++, or Rust.
- Have experience with cloud compute virtualization technologies such as KVM and QEMU, container runtimes, Linux system APIs, or hypervisor integration.
- Have experience with web application development, microservices, micro-orchestration, RESTful APIs, and database design patterns.
- Demonstrate debugging, profiling, and troubleshooting skills across distributed Linux systems and database layers.
