Base Salary
$160k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Work with the OpenStack API and interface with Compute-Storage teams.
- Support CI/CD for the Bloomberg Cloud Compute platform.
- Develop intelligence to predict performance issues caused by noisy neighbors.
- Participate in predictive capacity planning and management of the cloud compute platform.
- Contribute to platform stability, software deployments, virtualization maintenance, and performance monitoring.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, task refinement, and upstream open-source projects.
- Participate in company-wide reliability engineering efforts, technology conferences, and relevant training.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software development experience using Python or another object-oriented language.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technology field.
- Willingness to learn new skills and cloud technology.
- Preferred: prior experience on an SRE or cloud platform team.
- Preferred: more than 5 years of programming experience.
- Preferred: experience with Unix and distributed systems.
- Preferred: experience with Agile Scrum.
