Responsibilities
- Own enterprise AI platform capabilities through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production operations.
- Build and operate AI gateways, policy engines, identity fabric, registries, guardrails runtimes, observability pipelines, and audit platforms.
- Engineer instrumentation, SLOs, latency budgets, resilience patterns, failure handling, and runtime evidence into platform services.
- Develop APIs, interfaces, policy enforcement, identity attestation, audit capabilities, and integrations for domains and enterprise systems.
- Operate infrastructure across AWS and Azure, including on-call ownership and production support.
- Assess AI infrastructure patterns, foundation-model access approaches, and relevant standards using deliberate, cost-aware engineering decisions.
- Mentor engineers, review designs and code, establish engineering standards, and collaborate with security, architecture, developer experience, and AI SDLC teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of software or platform engineering experience for the Principal level, or 5+ years for the Senior level, including substantial enterprise-scale shared platform experience.
- Experience operating production infrastructure with SLOs and on-call ownership; regulated-industry or financial-services experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong distributed-systems and platform-engineering fundamentals, including latency-sensitive paths, resilience, multi-tenancy, and high availability.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go; TypeScript or Java experience is an asset.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture across AWS and Azure, containers, Kubernetes, service mesh, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, DevSecOps, Git-based workflows, Jira, and Confluence.
- Depth in one or more of policy and authorization, workload identity and zero trust, observability and telemetry, audit and compliance data platforms, API gateways, guardrails, or service registries.
- Working knowledge of GenAI platform patterns including LLM gateways, RAG, agentic patterns, foundation models, embeddings, and guardrails.
- Familiarity with AI/ML platforms and orchestration frameworks such as Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, SageMaker, MLflow, LangChain, and LlamaIndex.
- Understanding of responsible AI, AI and data governance, privacy, cloud security, and IAM for AI workloads.
- Preferred certifications include AWS, Microsoft Azure, security or identity, Databricks, Google Cloud ML, and relevant GenAI or LLM credentials.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, self-direction, and ambiguity-management skills; willingness to participate in on-call rotation.
