Base Salary
$155k - $172k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to a team applying software engineering practices to operations at scale.
- Monitor and report on service-level objectives and establish performance indicators with business and product owners.
- Design and architect automated, repeatable, and consistent operational solutions for applications.
- Create and maintain monitoring technologies and processes for application performance and business metrics.
- Conduct technical training, game day scenarios, engineering spikes, and resiliency testing.
- Partner with software development and security teams to improve resiliency, performance, efficiency, costs, and vulnerability response.
- Develop and monitor standard operational processes and provide practical architectural guidance.
- Debug and optimize code and automate routine operational tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related discipline is required.
- Prior relevant software development or architecture experience is required.
- Hands-on experience in a DevOps or systems administration role and in supporting cloud-based solutions is required.
- Experience supporting mission-critical applications in a production environment is required.
- Experience with one or more of C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby is required.
- Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, software design, configuration management, and deployment automation is required.
- Experience administering Windows and Linux machines is required.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, QA and beta environments, cloud computing, on-premise infrastructure, production practices, and change management is required.
- Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and services is strongly preferred.
- Experience with virtualization and container solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS is strongly preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include broad troubleshooting experience, advanced Linux knowledge, and knowledge of or contributions to open-source software.
- Knowledge of generative AI model capabilities and experience using generative AI code assistants such as GitHub Copilot is an asset.
