Base Salary
$136k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain software tools supporting deployment, testing, and operational functions for network infrastructure.
- Research and apply industry best practices in network orchestration, monitoring, and network configuration management.
- Identify organizational pain points and lead execution of appropriate technical solutions.
- Expand monitoring and data visualization infrastructure using NetFlow and Streaming Telemetry.
- Design and implement automated remediation for undesirable network events.
- Build systems for RPKI validation, ROA management, and BGP origin validation at scale.
- Develop and maintain route policy systems and provisioning pipelines across a diverse, multi-vendor network.
- Instrument and monitor routing infrastructure and build real-time observability tooling.
- Document systems, write runbooks, and participate in routing security incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 8 years of related engineering experience.
- Experience creating or working with APIs and data transport and serialization formats including JSON, XML, and YAML.
- Experience with routers, switches, load balancers, and network routing protocols.
- Experience with IRR and RPSL-based filtering.
- Familiarity with ASPA, RPKI ROV, PKI infrastructure, and related protocols.
- Understanding of BGP, OSPF, VRRP, DHCP, TCP, UDP, IPv6, DNS, SMTP, and HTTP.
- Proficiency in a software development language and ability to debug custom code efficiently.
- Experience developing scalable and optimized software systems.
- Preferred experience with Linux operating systems, Docker containers, automation platforms such as Ansible and Salt, and time-series databases such as InfluxDB, OpenTSDB, and Prometheus.
- Preferred open-source contributions and strong documentation, communication, presentation, vendor liaison, and collaboration skills.
