Base Salary
$136k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain tools supporting network infrastructure deployment, testing, operations, orchestration, monitoring, and configuration management.
- Develop auto-remediation, data visualization, observability, and real-time monitoring capabilities for network infrastructure and applications.
- Design and implement RPKI validation, ROA management, BGP origin validation, route policy systems, and provisioning pipelines across a multi-vendor network.
- Instrument routing infrastructure, document systems, write runbooks, and participate in routing security incidents.
- Identify organizational pain points, research industry practices, establish operational standards, and lead solution execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 8 years of related engineering experience.
- Experience creating or working with APIs and data formats such as JSON, XML, and YAML.
- Experience with routers, switches, load balancers, network routing protocols, IRR, RPSL-based filtering, ASPA, RPKI ROV, and PKI infrastructure.
- Understanding of BGP, OSPF, VRRP, DHCP, TCP, UDP, IPv6, DNS, SMTP, and HTTP.
- Proficiency in a software development language and ability to debug custom code and develop scalable, optimized systems.
- Preferred experience with Linux, Docker, Ansible, Salt, open-source projects, and time-series databases such as InfluxDB, OpenTSDB, or Prometheus.
- Strong documentation, communication, presentation, vendor liaison, and collaboration skills.
