Base Salary
$104k - $181k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and sustain production services and components written in Java and C/C++.
- Author and maintain interface documentation, including schemas, contracts, and versioning strategies.
- Support integration testing and collaborate with Network Ops, Infrastructure, and Field Engineering teams to diagnose distributed-system failures.
- Develop and maintain build and deployment automation using GitLab CI/CD.
- Write unit, integration, and regression tests for critical services and interfaces.
- Participate in on-call rotations and operational support escalations.
- Follow configuration management and change-control practices for distributed production systems.
- Troubleshoot and correct software discrepancies to maximize system availability.
- Support systems deployed to remote sites and assist with migration or compatibility work across major version transitions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in software engineering and/or development.
- A master’s degree or Ph.D. may count as two additional years of experience each.
- Strong production-grade proficiency in Java, Scala, and/or C/C++.
- Experience building and supporting distributed, high-availability, or operationally critical systems.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and/or NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI/CD, and modern development workflows.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, and structured debugging.
- Strong written communication skills for producing design notes, runbooks, and implementation plans.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
- Experience with secure communications patterns, message queues, performance profiling, and ELK stack usage is desired.
- Active polygraph is a plus.
