Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain applications that meet client objectives and user needs.
- Design and write application code and maintain application databases.
- Analyze, edit, remodel, and optimize existing software applications, including fixing problems and enabling use on new hardware platforms.
- Identify client needs, consult during the design phase, and act as a technical advisor.
- Test applications to ensure they are free of errors and bugs.
- Install applications and communicate with technical stakeholders about limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces.
- Produce software documentation and participate in product reviews and team meetings.
- Handle client and customer issues tactfully and professionally.
Requirements
- Seasoned understanding of computer science, programming, application design, and user-focused features.
- Extended proficiency in Java and standard object libraries.
- Seasoned knowledge of software development processes, integrated development environments, and Agile development such as Scrum.
- Experience with programming languages including C, C++, Java, Perl, and Python.
- Seasoned experience with Linux or Unix and Windows operating systems.
- Seasoned experience working with SQL.
- Seasoned software applications engineering or software development experience.
- Project management experience and/or experience working in an Agile environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Programming-language certifications and Scrum or project-management certification are preferred.
- Ability to analyze complex systems, make critical cross-functional decisions, and work effectively with clients and teams.
