Base Salary
$190k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and ship scalable backend systems capable of handling millions of requests per day.
- Design, implement, and optimize APIs for research and media products.
- Own database design, optimization, and reliability using MySQL/Postgres.
- Implement caching and performance strategies with tools like Redis.
- Lead backend feature development from planning to production release.
- Diagnose and resolve scalability, performance, and reliability issues.
- Enhance testing, monitoring, and observability across the stack.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams for seamless integrations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer with a focus on TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience building fast, reliable API endpoints handling over 1M requests per day.
- Proficiency in designing and optimizing relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with caching mechanisms such as Redis.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tools.
- Attention to detail and ability to write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
