Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and UX partners to refine priorities.
- Contribute to defining success metrics for AI agents.
- Monitor the competitive landscape of AI-native DevOps tools.
- Design, build, and operate backend features for GitLab CI.
- Implement AI-powered CI capabilities integrated with GitLab’s Duo Agent Platform.
- Instrument and monitor CI systems for continuous improvement.
- Write secure, well-tested Ruby on Rails code.
- Mentor others and raise engineering standards across the Verify stage.
Requirements
- Strong Ruby on Rails backend experience in a large production codebase.
- In-depth experience building and operating AI-powered backend features.
- A data- and observability-driven approach to diagnosing issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with high-traffic production systems.
- Experience with AI agents or agentic frameworks is a plus.
- Strong PostgreSQL skills, including data modeling and query tuning.
