Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, optimize, and implement new features for native Android applications.
- Influence feature and product development using Android engineering lifecycle best practices and patterns.
- Own end-to-end product quality, including application development, maintenance, reliability, and user experience.
- Prototype new mobile technology ideas and explore emerging technologies.
- Help scale mobile app development across Engineering by improving architecture, processes, and tools.
- Collaborate with team members and internal technology groups on coding standards and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 3–7 years of experience working as an Android developer.
- BS or MS degree in computer science or software engineering.
- Proficiency building native mobile applications and mobility solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Android components including Activity, Services, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, and Content Provider.
- Mastery of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flows, Jetpack components, and Kotlinx Serialization.
- Strong experience with web service integration, performance, testing, and tooling.
- Experience with Jetpack Security, encryption, OAuth, and secure token storage.
- Experience with MVVM or MVI architecture using ViewModel, LiveData, Flow, or StateFlow.
- Experience using Android Studio Gemini, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor for AI-assisted coding.
- Familiarity with video player frameworks is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience developing applications for Fire TV or Android TV is preferred but not mandatory.
