Responsibilities
- Tackle challenging product design problems and implement solutions in code.
- Expand and enhance Ashby’s in-house design system and create flexible, composable components.
- Consult with engineers and help improve information hierarchy, scannability, and other design decisions.
- Research customer problems, write product specifications, build wireframes, and deliver solutions end to end.
- Build approachable products for beginners while supporting customization and mastery by power users.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Infrastructure engineers, and other stakeholders with minimal process.
- Ship product changes that improve the productivity of talent acquisition teams.
Requirements
- Ability to design and build software, including creating wireframes, prototypes, and production implementations.
- Strong product thinking, technical design, debugging, abstraction, and learning fundamentals.
- Ability to take ownership of projects from problem research and product specifications through implementation.
- Ability to collaborate naturally, communicate deliberately, and provide or receive design feedback.
- Previous experience with Ashby’s technology stack is not required; an affinity for typed languages is helpful.
- Candidates participate in pair programming, collaborative product and technical specification exercises, and interviews covering product thinking, technical design, and infrastructure.
