Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Develop data ingestion workflows through APIs and batch processing.
- Automate manual and spreadsheet-driven processes with internal tools and dashboards.
- Contribute to server-rendered frontend development using HTML, HTMX, and Jinja templates.
- Improve testing, performance, security, monitoring, and data quality, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and technical planning while owning work from development through deployment.
- Collaborate with product, data, and operations teams on architecture, reliability, and process improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong backend engineering background.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL and experience building production backend services.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, with PostgreSQL preferred.
- Experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse, including data ingestion and processing.
- Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS CDK, or similar tools, plus familiarity with CI/CD.
- Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, authentication, authorization, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Strong English communication skills at B2–C1 level or above.
- Ability to work independently, lead technical efforts, and deliver practical solutions in a fast-moving environment.
- Highly desired experience with HTML, HTMX, Jinja templates, or Python-based server-rendered applications.
- Nice to have experience with Apache Airflow or another data orchestration platform.
- Nice to have familiarity with React, Next.js, Angular, or JavaScript.
