Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, maintain, test, and support enterprise mainframe applications using COBOL and related technologies.
- Translate technical and functional designs into scalable, maintainable code and execute comprehensive unit tests.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues within defined service level expectations.
- Collaborate with business, product, quality assurance, and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct peer code reviews and participate in technical design discussions, code walkthroughs, and solution reviews.
- Create technical documentation, test evidence, and change records for audit and compliance requirements.
- Support modernization, regulatory, security, and compliance initiatives across critical payment systems.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and operational stability in complex enterprise environments.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing and supporting enterprise mainframe applications, including 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong proficiency in COBOL and Job Control Language (JCL).
- Hands-on experience with IMS DB/DC, CICS, VSAM, IMS, DB2, and MQ Series.
- Experience with File-Aid, InSync, Xpediter, and Endevor development or debugging tools.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, testing methodologies, and change management processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience delivering solutions in regulated, high-volume transaction processing environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include HP JCL experience, card payments or financial services experience, payment processing and settlement knowledge, modernization and API integration exposure, and compliance or vulnerability management experience.
