Base Salary
$227k - $303k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the frontend architecture, performance, stability, and reliability of the W&B Models application.
- Set performance targets, instrument the application, and drive improvements validated with production data.
- Define application delivery, rendering, code-splitting, and frontend architecture decisions.
- Partner with backend and platform teams on API design and moving work out of the client.
- Lead large-scale architectural overhauls and coordinate requirements across engineering teams.
- Shape other teams' designs, build organizational consensus, and execute owned plans through production.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building user-facing software, with deep frontend architecture and performance expertise.
- Experience leading the transformation of a large, long-lived React application and owning the outcome.
- Strong React and TypeScript skills with production GraphQL experience and expertise in Redux or Zustand.
- Ability to analyze frontend and backend traces, identify performance bottlenecks, and quantify improvements.
- Strong client-side caching fundamentals, including normalization, invalidation, and large-scale failure modes.
- Hands-on experience with bundlers, build tooling, code splitting, and delivery tradeoffs.
- Sufficient backend depth to design high-level systems and API architectures.
- Track record of validating ideas, coordinating across engineering teams, and sequencing cross-organizational work.
- Preferred: experience with automated lint rules, CI gates, performance budgets, data-dense or visualization-heavy applications, and configurable products.
- Preferred: familiarity with Datadog RUM and APM or comparable observability tools, working knowledge of Go, and exposure to ML, MLOps, or AI agent workflows.
