Responsibilities
- Build scalable AI/ML and data-pipeline solutions using data engineering, MLOps, automation, and cloud-native technologies.
- Use Python and SQL to explore, clean, transform, and validate data and create analytical datasets or model features.
- Develop C# or C++ software, tools, and architectures for visualization and surgical-console products.
- Create an AI-ready laboratory knowledge framework connecting laboratory systems, electronic lab notebooks, instrument data, and study data.
- Monitor cybersecurity alerts, analyze events, and assist with incident response.
- Collaborate with Alcon professionals and contribute to real-world projects aligned with business needs and team placement.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester before the internship and at least one additional semester afterward.
- Be pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software, data or analytics, AI/ML, IT, information systems, HCI/UX, or a related major.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrate leadership through extracurricular activities or projects.
- Be authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship; students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated.
- Be able to commit to a 10–12-week, full-time summer internship at 40 hours per week.
