Base Salary
$150k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and support performance testing and data generation frameworks.
- Analyze application, database, and system-level behavior to identify performance bottlenecks.
- Define performance standards, benchmarks, documentation, and architectural decision records.
- Develop best practices for performance optimization, scalability, and measurement.
- Partner with engineering teams on performance testing strategies, scalability approaches, and remediation efforts.
- Build reusable tooling that helps teams proactively identify and resolve performance challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- 2+ years of experience with k6 or other load-testing frameworks and JavaScript.
- Strong background in performance design and optimization tuning.
- Deep expertise with distributed computing systems and container-native environments.
- 3+ years of experience in cloud-native environments, particularly AWS, preferred.
- Proficiency in automation and observability scripting with Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience with relational databases; PostgreSQL experience is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
