Base Salary
$388k - $558k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build maintainable, performant Android client code and documentation for use by Android developers across Netflix.
- Define and drive engineering best practices for consistency, reliability, simplicity, and high-volume codebases.
- Build scalable server-driven UI architecture and tooling using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Circuit, Dagger/Hilt, and GraphQL.
- Develop testable code and write automated JVM Unit, Espresso, and Paparazzi tests.
- Modernize Android technologies and software engineering practices to accelerate innovation.
- Collaborate with client and server teams on framework and architecture vision and delivery.
- Mentor and grow less-experienced Android engineers.
- Influence framework and architecture roadmaps and drive forward-looking technical solutions with minimal supervision.
- Lead projects, deliver results, estimate work, and balance business, user, and architectural needs.
- Integrate generative AI and agentic workflows into team engineering practices and the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Android development, UI architecture, and modern Android frameworks.
- Ability to identify opportunities and drive technical solutions or roadmaps with little supervision.
- Strong track record of leading projects and delivering results, with project management and estimation skills.
- Practical problem-solving approach that weighs trade-offs and avoids over-engineering.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and appreciation for diverse perspectives.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to use Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Circuit, Dagger/Hilt, GraphQL, and Android testing tools such as JVM Unit, Espresso, and Paparazzi.
- Track record of weaving generative AI and agentic workflows into team engineering practices and changing how the software development lifecycle works for colleagues.
