Base Salary
$217k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, write, and deliver software to improve Reddit's product performance.
- Dive deep into the codebase of services and the monolith legacy stack.
- Make system-level improvements and implement complex code modifications.
- Own the design and evolution of the platform for future growth.
- Identify gaps in current designs and lead redesigns to enhance developer velocity.
- Collaborate with other software engineers and stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide other backend engineers across the company.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in building internet-scale software.
- BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in programming languages such as Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
- Prior experience with scaled platform services and API design.
- Demonstrated history of technical leadership in engineering teams.
- Exceptional communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with Kubernetes, gRPC, Cassandra, TiDB, or Redis is a plus.
