Responsibilities
- Influence and create new software designs and architectures for a high-scale geo-distributed platform.
- Benchmark and improve the performance of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications through architecture and design changes.
- Write code and test cases for feature development while maintaining secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable software.
- Identify technology modernization opportunities, build proofs of concept, demonstrate value, and align partner teams.
- Define new components while accounting for service interdependencies and limitations.
- Collaborate with multiple product development and engineering teams.
- Identify opportunities to use AI to improve organizational productivity and foster engineering excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in cloud infrastructure management or web development.
- Expertise in or familiarity with C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Expertise in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, object-oriented design, test-driven development, and agile methodologies.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Interest in AI, machine learning, data science, or related technologies.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, independent working, and continuous-learning skills.
