Responsibilities
- Define and own enterprise omnichannel architecture, reference architectures, integration patterns, and design standards.
- Lead the configuration and implementation of Manhattan Active Omni Order Management, Store Fulfillment, and Inventory & Order Visibility.
- Design order routing, sourcing rules, fulfillment workflows, exception management, returns, reverse logistics, and distributed order management across stores, distribution centers, and vendors.
- Architect integrations among OMS, e-commerce, POS, WMS, ERP, CRM, carrier, logistics, and customer-facing systems using APIs and event-driven messaging.
- Establish API governance, data schemas, error handling, retry logic, dead-letter management, observability, alerting, runbooks, and non-functional requirements.
- Define omnichannel data models and pipelines supporting operational reporting, analytics, customer order status, tracking, and self-service returns.
- Lead build-versus-buy-versus-configure decisions, vendor evaluations, RFPs, proof-of-concepts, architecture reviews, and governance documentation.
- Provide hands-on implementation guidance, conduct design reviews, mentor engineering teams, and align technical roadmaps with business program timelines.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in software or enterprise architecture, including 5+ years focused on order management, omnichannel, or supply chain systems in retail or e-commerce.
- Hands-on experience implementing or architecting Manhattan Active Omni, including Order Management, Store Fulfillment, and Inventory & Order Visibility.
- Deep understanding of BOPIS, BORIS, ship-from-store, ship-to-store, drop-ship, and same-day delivery models.
- Strong expertise in API design and integration architecture using REST, GraphQL, event-driven messaging, and ESB or iPaaS patterns.
- Experience integrating OMS platforms with POS, WMS, ERP, CRM, e-commerce, carrier, and logistics systems.
- Experience designing distributed order management and inventory availability or available-to-promise solutions at scale.
- Working knowledge of retail data models covering orders, shipments, inventory, returns, product catalogs, and customer master data.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud-native patterns including containers, Kubernetes, serverless systems, and infrastructure as code.
- Established use of AI productivity tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or Glean in engineering and architecture work.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex architectures to technical and business stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with commercetools, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Manhattan WMS, Blue Yonder WMS, Aptos, NCR, Oracle Xstore, EasyPost, ShipBob, Narvar, order tracking, self-service returns, and post-purchase platforms.
- Preferred experience leading enterprise platform programs with cross-functional teams of 10+ engineers and contributing architecture patterns, conference talks, or open-source projects.
