Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, maintain, and improve firmware for electronic products and systems.
- Define firmware requirements, architecture, embedded module designs, source code, and technical documentation.
- Develop device drivers and perform unit, integration, system, engineering validation, and product validation testing.
- Participate in code reviews and use design tools such as functional block diagrams, flow diagrams, simulations, fault tree analysis, and state diagrams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and lead teams technically.
- Collaborate with validation labs and domestic and international teams across multiple sites.
- Adapt firmware designs to changing requirements and new feature requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering or Master of Technology in Electronics and Communication or Computer Science Engineering.
- 2-5 years of embedded electronics experience in firmware design and development.
- Extensive embedded firmware experience and very good C programming skills; Assembly language knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, unit testing, and system testing.
- Experience with 8-, 16-, or 32-bit microcontrollers and microcontroller device drivers using I2C, SPI, or UART.
- Experience using version control systems, emulators, and debuggers.
- Experience with an RTOS such as Micrium, FreeRTOS, Linux, or Yocto.
- Experience with wireless protocols such as BLE or Wi-Fi.
- Experience with cybersecurity, cryptography, and other security technologies.
- Z-Wave or ZigBee experience is an advantage.
- Experience with Silicon Labs ARM Cortex processors is desirable.
- Experience with battery-powered programs and battery algorithms is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Microsoft DevOps tools and Git is desirable.
- Ability to provide technical guidance, mentor junior resources, work across teams, and adapt to changing requirements.
