Responsibilities
- Design, build, launch, and support features across Scheduling, HR Management, Time Tracking, and Payroll.
- Lead implementation of components and services, owning estimates, execution, delivery, and iterative improvement.
- Deliver reliable, testable, maintainable production code where accuracy is critical.
- Solve problems across Scheduling, Time Tracking, HRM, and Payroll to create connected customer experiences.
- Work closely with Product, Design, and Data partners to shape products and learning velocity.
- Use AI and agentic tools across design, coding, testing, and reviews, and share effective workflows with the team.
- Conduct code reviews, advance engineering standards, mentor junior engineers, and help raise team quality.
- Stay close to customers and prioritize fixes for issues affecting small business owners and workers.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and a record of shipping production software that customers depend on.
- Strong Ruby on Rails background is preferred.
- Ability to produce clean designs, solid tests, and thoughtful technical trade-offs.
- Experience leading implementation of components or services and delivering projects end to end.
- Experience owning estimation, execution, and iterative improvement.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with Product, Design, and Data.
- Comfort working in a high-velocity environment focused on rapid shipping and iteration.
- Daily practical use of AI tools and the ability to demonstrate their impact is expected.
- Experience with payroll, scheduling, workforce management, or similarly complex business domains is a plus.
